    A note about this pattern:

    ByAnnie uses cutting instructions instead of paper templates, which means more accurate measurements and a pattern that lasts through many makes (no worn-out or damaged template pieces). Most cuts are rectangular and easy to measure with a straight ruler. For any rounded edges, you can shape them with a circle ruler, a compass, or even a larger thread cone.

    A note from the designer:

    On the Go 2.0 is an updated version of the original On the Go pattern from 2012. Think of it as a new edition of a textbook – same idea, refined design, clearer instructions, and improved techniques. Specific updates include:

    • A deeper bag for more room without losing the compact silhouette
    • A redesigned strap with a more secure, comfortable attachment
    • Sew-in magnets in place of the old hook-and-loop closure, for a cleaner look and better function
    • Simplified pocket layout and updated construction for a more professional finish that's easier to sew

    Fabric requirements:

    • Main fabric (bag body, flap, pockets): 1/2 yard
    • Lining fabric (lining of bag body, flap, pockets): 1/2 yard
    • Coordinating fabric (bindings, strap, inner pockets): 1/2 yard
    • ByAnnie's Soft and Stable (58" wide): 1/2 yard
    • Fusible interfacing: 1/4 yard
    • Clear vinyl for see-through pockets: 5" x 10"

    Hardware needed:

    • 2 yards of 1" polypro strapping
    • (2) 1" triangle rings
    • (1) 1" wide-mouth slider
    • (2) 1" swivel hooks
    • (1) 14 mm sew-in magnetic snap

    You'll also need:

    • Polyester thread
    • Double-sided basting tape (helpful for holding pieces in place as you sew)
    • Cutting mat, ruler, and rotary cutter
    • Size 14 or 16 denim or Microtex needle
    • Water-soluble pen or tailor's chalk
